Young children between the ages of 18 months and 4 years old from two Early Years settings with their childminders/practitioners.


Amongst other findings, the research identified four ways in which the use of the Our Story software had helped children to pursue their curiosity about everyday experiences and use imagination in leading the creation and telling of their stories.

The Our Story software supported each of these characteristics of children’s story making. The interweaving of photos/videos with children’s own recorded words provided richer understanding of children’s experiences and views of the world than any single type of information. Furthermore, Our Story enabled very young children to lead the creation of their own stories in their own ways with far less adult intervention than many research methods.
